Not Today!

OK its been a while and I really don't have an excuse. We had our first weekend fundraiser sale and brought in nearly $1200.00. Amazing right? Well this weekend is the second weekend of the sale and I am praying for another 1200.00. Now that would be amazing right? Well today is one of those not so positive days. Feeling a little defeated when it comes to the 40,000 we are trying to raise. Feeling as though it is impossible. I get this way about once a week and I'm sure satan loves the energy he gets when I feel this way. So I vow the next time I feel this way I will say "Not today! Today I only have $33,000 to raise. Today is one day closer to bringing our babies home."
Please pray for our sale this weekend. Pray that our pole barn and garage becomes empty in the next four days. Pray that our babies will be home soon.
Don't forget our fundraiser link in the sidebar. There are a lot of ways to help out. Share our story because it is through people like you who will help bring our babies home. It's people like you who will spread the word that we are desperately trying to raise this money to rescue our two Russian Beauties.

Journey with my eyes closed

Faith is a lot of work and its hard work but I guess they never say it's an easy path to follow Christ. They never say only good things happen when you follow our great big God. I wish faith meant easy but it really means:
1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in an other's ability.
2. belief that is not based on proof:

Definition number one really tells me I am not in control and I have to give up my idea or plan and believe He is in control. I can not raise 40,000 but, He can. I can not travel around the world to bring home two  of my babies home with down syndrome but I can with Him by  my side. I can with Him walking before me and behind me.
Definition number two well don't ask me for the proof just follow along our journey. See what He can do. Share our story because this is a story of faith. This is a story worthy of sharing. He is going to move big mountains. I am walking this journey with my eyes closed in true Faith. I believe we all have a part in this journey. It is not only about our family or our babies. It's up to all of us to play our part. It's up to all of us to have faith and come along.

Philippians 2:3-4
3 When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves.4 Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others.

Thank you to "A Friend". Your humility has reminded me of this verse. There are not words to show our gratitude. Thank you so much for thinking of our family and our babies.

Help out another family and win an ipad, itouch or $100

I wanted to bring your attention to an incredible fundraiser that another adoptive family is doing ~ Traci & Mike are adopting Anna and to help raise the money to do so, they are having a giveaway for an iPad, an iTouch and $100 cash (all in the same drawing)! A $5 donation gives you one chance to win and a $25 donation will get you 25 chances to win! What an awesome deal! Winners will be drawn on August 31st.

Please head over to Traci's blog and help them out if you can. I know they'd appreciate getting a lot more entries into this fantastic fundraiser they're doing and really, the chance to get an iPad or an iTouch for just a couple of bucks is incredible and totally worth trying for, don't you think?

Gods Pure and Perfect Religion

Oh how I wish I could post their sweet faces. Our baby girl has big eyes with a beautiful smile. She looks as though she has strawberry blond hair (like my mummer). Our sweet baby boy looks like Jason. Yep, just like his daddy. I carry with me their photos just so people can see the resemblance. He looks exactly like Jay. (If you stp by our house I have photos of them). Its near morning now in Russia and I can only imagine them as they awake to a new day, I pray someone is their who greets them with a smile or dare I wish they receive a hug today. I ask that their angles whisper in their ear that they have a whole family and lots of friend waiting for them. That they are loved and cherished. I can not imagine the day we meet it seems so far in the distance. But it does have to come right? Its like Christmas to a child. It has to come someday. Every minute that passes is a minute closer right?
Please if you can find it in your heart help us bring them home. There are so many ways to give hope to these babies. Every donation helps even if it seems insignificant to you, it is everything to them. I know there are some who say "If you want to adopt then you should have the money". Here is what I have to say "When you have a calling in your life it usually is not about you. It is about caring and loving someone else. It is about following your faith and knowing God has bigger plans for you then you can ever imagine." I know we can not raise this money on our own and I know this is huge undertaking. But this is not just our undertaking. James 1:27 says Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. Now, I don't think everyone is called to adopt as not everyone is called to be a missionary or parent or doctor but I do know EVERYONE is called to care for orphans in their distress. Care for the orphans....all orphans. There are more than 147 million orphans and we are on a journey to rescue two. Please consider helping, consider how you could be part of caring for an orphan...Gods perfect Religion.
