"I want my picnic"

I am totally freaking out here!!! I thought our first travel date would be around the end of February. Boy! was I wrong. We will possible be traveling around the end of December. YIKES!!! That is two months earlier than I thought. I'm not freaking out about traveling..not about leaving my kiddos here.....not about meeting our new daughter...Freaking out because we have $19,000 to raise. Oh please Lord show us the way. Open the hearts of those who will help. We have raised/saved nearly $11,000 and that is almost half way. We have near enough for our first trip. Once we return we will have anywhere from 4-8 weeks to raise the rest of the money we need.
It seems there are always stories of how families get the money they need right at the last minute....a minute before they travel...a minute before they think all hope is lost...of course it is all in His timing but what if someone on the other end missed the boat. I suppose I could play the "what if" game but, I will choose not and rely on what I know to be the truth.
Hebrews 13:5 Don't love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, "I will never fail you. I will never abandon you."
So back to those who get what the need at the last minute. I have followed enough adoption stories to see God's hands at work for these little helpless orphans and I know he is ever so faithful to us. I often say in a whining baby fit "I want My picnic"...... this statement refers to a family that raised nearly all they needed from a picnic they hosted at a local farm (I think). This picnic started out with one bad thing after another and the family really thought it was going to fail even before it began. I won't go into every detail but days before the picnic God started performing His amazing miracles and the results were astounding.
So again i will whine "I WANT MY PICNIC...WHERES MY PICNIC???"
I know God has already planned my picnic and he has sent out the invitations. Were you invited? Are you one of the elite guest?

Meet Vika

Isn't she a beauty? This little princess is who possibly spends her days with our sweet daughter. This is the little girl I have been praying for; that she would find her forever family. This is what they have to say about sweet Vika:
“In the highest Volochek live girl – Vicky. The girl’s alive, radiant blue eyes, a mischievous “tail”, winning smile and open face. It is well built, childishly naive and coquettish – a child wants to love, embrace, lisping with him. Âèêóëÿ and she is always glad to new people, smiles all around, laughing loudly and zalivisto, fins and happy sitting on their hands. Wick – a lovely little girl, clockwork, energetic, affectionate and sociable, and in general, little girl, whose place at home, at the table with mom and dad, where you can happily talk down, sitting on a high chair, twist and tuck into cakes with apples. (confusing, believe that is writen from some in Russia)
In May 2005, in Tver maternity mom did not know that her daughter will be a bright and good, she thought that this child with Down syndrome becomes a burden and an object of ridicule, and therefore given it up …

Vike almost 3 years, her illness with proper care, attention and care can be greatly adjusted. And now it is not very different from their peers. Vikusya already said a few words, knows the names of animals and birds can show them the picture. Of course, it is not very assiduously in the classroom, her mood quickly changed. But she already knows itself to assemble and disassemble pyramids, cups-liners, understands the differences in the sizes of objects can draw straight lines and closed lines. Likes to play with the doll, feeding her, shakes and washes. Girl with easily imitate adults, able to dress with a little help, eating – not a bit careful, but herself, asking for a pot, washes his hands … She loves affection. Vika – a normal child.

Vika is one of the lucky ones to be in a baby house still PLease help her and her family.
Vika found her forever family. She has a mommy and a big brother. If you are curious to know a little more please go to their blog. Please pray for them. Her mom is having a raffle for a 32" flat screen TV-just $10 for a ticket. I have my ticket you should get yours. She will only be selling 500 tickets so don't miss out. http://seyboldfamily.blogspot.com/

October Update FUN,FUN!!

So it is nearing the end of October and we have been trying to move along. We have our passports back YEAH! We have all of our forms filled out for our home study to be finishes another YEAH! Tomorrow we will send out our fingerprints for our state and FBI clearance and then our SW will write our home study. Next is getting our I-600a application sent out to INS (immigration) and for them to send our appointment date to get our finger prints done. Yes, we have to pay for them to be done twice so the FBI can clear us TWICE!!! Make no sense to me. So I-600a is next. In the meantime we are working on some of the paper work for our dossier(in country papers).
Also we are still working on fundraising. Head over to http://www.uniquelyu4orphans.blogspot.com/ where you can purchase some beautiful bracelets or necklaces for holiday gifts. They are all hand made by me and each one comes with a beautiful numbered card. I am trying to sell 2000.
Very soon I will have a face lift on this blog. Thanks to my RR family friend Lu.

test

This absolutly fits where God has me right now. This was the post of a young ladies blog. I knew I had to put this on mine.
"GOD HAS COME TO TEST YOU." EXODUS 20:20 NKJV
Life Will Test You
Do you remember your school days? When you were being tested the teacher was silent. The Bible says: "Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him…When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and…He…saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night [just before the dawn] He went out to them…walking on the lake…They cried out, because they…were terrified. Immediately He spoke to them and said, `Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.' Then He climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed" (Mark 6:45-51 NIV). This story teaches that:
(1) Being in the will of God requires you to go through storms. "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all" (Psalm 34:19 KJV). (2) When you can't see Him, His eye is still on you. You are never out of His sight, His care or His reach. (3) He will never give you an assignment you can complete without His help, so don't try it alone. (4) If you let it, fear will cloud your thinking and keep you from recognizing Him when He comes to you. (5) First He will speak to you, then to the circumstances that threaten you. When He does, you'll experience supernatural peace. (6) When your boat is "in the middle" of the storm, the best is yet to come! (7) The darkest hour is just before the dawn. Rejoice! The sun will shine again; God won't fail you.

Our life long Campaign

Aren't they just so shabby Chic? Each one is hand made by me (with help of some recruits). Each necklace is personalized by no other than myself, yes I am the one who writes on the rice. If you add our button to your facebook status or to your blog you get %10 off your first order. Each one is numbered and comes with a beautiful card with our mission and story on it. They will make perfect Christmas gifts they are inexpensive, beautiful and they are for a great cause.
With the sale of 2000 pieces of jewelry we will bring home our beloved daughter.
Don't let her be forgotten. Don't let her live her life out in an insane asylum. Don't let her look past the bars of her crib and watch as other children are given to their forever family. This is our calling as a family but it is up to us, all of us to bring her home. I know pretty bold to say but its truth. We are all responsible to act. She is a child who deserves life. She is our daughter who deserves to be loved. If we are part of your family then she too is a part.
This campaign starts with us and our mission to save our daughter but it won't end there I will continue this far after she is home;all the proceeds will go to other Reece's Rainbow families to help rescue other children. Last week a sweet precious girl, Anne Marie, died from dehydration.....DEHYDRATION lack of fluids!!!!! This is not right and it is not okay! So your eyes are open, you know the need...lets do something about this. Help support an orphan its our job.

"No", "Slow", "Grow" and "Go"

God always answers prayer
When the idea is not right, God says "No."
"No" when the idea is not the best,
"No" when the idea is absolutely wrong,
"No" when though it may help you, it could create problems for someone else.
When the time is not right, God says, "slow"
What a catastrophe it would be if God answered every prayer at the snap of your fingers.
Do you know what would happen?
God would become your servant, not your master.
Suddenly, God would be working for you, instead of you working for God.
Remember: God's delays are not denials. God's timing is perfect. Patience is what we need in prayer
When you are not right God says "grow"
The selfish person has to grow in unselfishness.
the cautious person must grow in courage.
The timid person must grow in confidence.
The dominant person must grow in sensitivity.
The critical person must grow in tolerance.
The negative person must grow in positive attitude.
The pleasure seeking person must grow in compassion for suffering people.
When everything is right God says "Go"
Then miracles happen:
Our hearts are set free!
We become part of the journey instead of creating the journey.
The doubter becomes a child in his belief.
Healing begins!
The door to your dreams suddenly swings open and there stands
God saying, "Go"

Little Black Cocktail Dress

Okay did the title catch your attention?  So we have been super busy raising money to bring our babies home that I have neglected working out.  Those of you who know me well, know that I have been working out for almost two years 3-4 days a week well, not so much lately. Little Black Cocktail dress.......that's what I have to wear on December 6. I will be one of the brides maids in my most favorite cousins wedding. Her name is Cher and if you could picture "Cher" then you have a pretty close idea of what my Cher looks like. So little dress.......I will fit in you on Dec. 6. I tried it on today and it still zips. Thank you Jesus!
So here is what has kept me away from working out; Were getting ready to start our read-a-thon and the kids are so excited because they practice there speech and started asking neighbors if they would sponsor them. The first two gave each of the kids $25 each. Yes that is $100 between the two neighbors. Also I am starting the "Uniquely U bracelet Campaign for Orphans", and I tell you what these are fabulous!!! Each bangle bracelet is snuggled into a scrumptious fabric.  A "must have" for your wardrobe. Plus each one will be numbered so you know which one you bought to help bring home our Russian Beauties. My goal is to sell 3000. I am Hoping the blog for the campaign will be up and running by the end of the week. It will be just in time for the season of giving not only will you be giving to us you will be giving a meaningfully gifts to family and friends. BONUS!!!
Okay I must be off.......MAYBE to work out. I have to begin SOON!!!!

Reece's Rainbow--While We Wait

While we wait taken from RR blog

While we wait for the perfect timing...
they hope they can wait another day.

While we wait for more money...
they wait with nothing.

While we wait for a bigger home with enough room...
they wait for room in our hearts.

While we wait for others approval...
they wait with any dignity they can find.

While we wait for the ideal child....
they wait knowing they are not.

While we wait trying to decide if we can manage another...
they wait trying to manage on their own.

While we wait to see how much we have to give to them...
They are waiting to give us even more.

While we wait for God to provide...
He waits for us to take the first step so He can.

We must NEVER use 'waiting to hear from Him' as an excuse for not doing what He has ALREADY commanded in the bible for us to do... proclaim the truth, care for orphans, serve others, be His hands of justice for the poor, and show compassion.

(James 1v27)

So, what are you waiting for??

I know I am in a battle I'll win

Recently a woman posted to the yahoo adoption group I belong to.
The war is on those children, and it always has been...from the days where they were first to go in Nazi Germany, and days before that when they were drowned at birth, and here in America where we have been convinced that we are saving them by aborting them...and institutions where they die slow or maybe not so slow but completely lonely...
The pain for the enemy when people truly walk the walk and reach across to love these children who respond in love even though they have never seen it, well the enemy's pain must twist him into remembering what Jesus did for us. It is easy to bring the fight down to our level and think that it is against the proverbial "me" but it isn't. It is about completing the things God has set before us. And the fight is over us all and about glorifying God. If you have not come to a point of following God yet, then this probably sounds like nonsense, but imagine it were true. The consistency is overwhelming in the intensity of the battle. And when we reach out for someone who needs us to teach them that love is real, I am always surprised that birds don't sing and the deer sprint on cue, but instead demons roaming the earth start hollering and pointing, so we can be attacked. And angels fight over our heads and great throngs cheer for us in heaven. But in battle that stuff gets forgotten because of what is right in front of me making me crazy for the day.
I realize I am in a battle. A battle to rescue these babies. A battle to fight against the odds. A battle that I now know I must win. A battle I will win.

It's not a Want or a Need

Before we started this journey I prepared my mind for the discouraging thoughts and feelings of those who love us and even those who don't know us so well but I didn't prepare my heart. Was it crazy to think that even those who have known us since we have been born would support us? Let me first define support: to say "congratulations on this new chapter of your life" as they would if we were pregnant, to say "we are so excited to meet your new addition and welcome them in to our lives as you do yours", to pray for us and listen to our disappointments when they come along, to say "how can we help you", to cry and laugh with us along this amazing scary journey we were called to take and yes of course there is always financial support. Let me guess the one that sticks the most is financial support. I understand, I've heard the comments here and there. If you want to adopt then you should have the money. Really?? If we want? This is a child's life. This is not only a child this is our child's life. She is going to be in all of our lives for the rest of her life on earth. This isn't Jason and I just out for a joy ride.  And here is where the title to my blog comes in; It's not a Want or Need it is a calling. Yes, a calling. For those of you who are a follower of Christ which I know most who are reading this claim to be; this will make total since to you. Those who are not and do not believe then this is going to be a bunch of rubbish to you but humor me and read on Please.
I say a calling because this is not something we wanted or to be quite honest needed, we were called to do this. Our heart have grown for these babies. No they haven't grown inside my womb but they have grown into our heart. Just as you may be called to help someone else in need. Maybe you do it out of guilt, maybe you do it out of the kindness of your heart, maybe you do it because you haven't felt like you've done a good deed in the past few months but none the less there are some things you just don't turn a blind eye to. Proverbs 24:12 Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and hold us responsible to act."  So I don't understand why some of us feel this right to decide if this is right for our family. I don't understand why those we love have turned their eyes away from us.  I don't why some of them will not bat an eye when they drop change into a red bucket at Christmas time but have all the excuses not to do the same for someone they have known and loved for all of our lives. No need to explain though, I guess I still have to prepare my heart.
On last thought I told myself I would continue to look for the good and be thankful for those willing to support us. And I've got to tell you there are some amazing people who I have had  the honor in meeting. I know why we are on this journey and I may not know everything about it yet but what I know so far is truly remarkable. Thank you to all of you who are willing to step out and support us.
